I'll be honest — I almost didn't write this post because the numbers feel too small to brag about. Five hundred dollars isn't "quit your job" money.
But here's the thing: I made $500 in 48 hours with zero audience, zero email list, and zero design experience. I'm sharing this because it felt impossible before I did it, and I want to show you exactly how it happened.
The setup
I'm a former teacher turned freelance curriculum designer. I know instructional design. I know nothing about marketing, funnels, or "building in public."
I'd been sitting on the idea for a "Micro-Course Design Kit" for months — a resource for coaches and consultants who want to create their first online mini-course. I knew there was demand. I had no idea how to actually make it.
Day 1: The product
I used PLRStudio. I answered 7 questions:
Twenty minutes later I had: a 28-page workbook, a Canva design brief, a sales page, and a 5-email welcome sequence. I spent another two hours customizing the intro and adding a few personal examples.
Day 1 afternoon: The listing
I created a Gumroad account (never had one before). Used the AI-generated sales page copy almost verbatim. Set the price at $37. Published.
Day 2: Distribution
I posted in three Facebook groups I'd been a member of for years. Just helpful posts — no spam, no "buy my thing." One mentioned I'd just packaged up my process if anyone wanted it. That was it.
The result
14 sales in 48 hours. $500 (minus Gumroad fees). Three people emailed to say it was exactly what they needed.
What actually mattered
The copy. The AI-generated sales page spoke directly to the anxiety my audience feels. I couldn't have written something that good from scratch in two days.
Start with the product. Then find where your people already are. That's the whole strategy.
